Site Reliability Engineer. Unix, databases, automation and observability since 2000, across banking, cable and public-safety technology. Since 2025: AI-assisted engineering, and a personal lab training small language models from scratch. That lab is a different discipline from the career: the SRE habits carried over, the machine learning was learned on the way, and the losses pages show where.

- Kill toil. Automate the repetitive, knowledge-heavy tasks that only two people know how to do.
- Make it visible. Observability tooling and fleet reporting.
- Teach it forward. Recorded training, documentation, and one-on-one sessions for SRE and SWE teams. At Axon this cut delivery of converted systems by three months.
- Tune it. Low-latency trading systems: network, OS and database performance work.
The career is one slide by design. The one outcome quoted above, three months off the delivery of converted systems, is the one I have a record for; I do not keep score on the others and will not invent them. The lab pages are where the numbers live, because there I can point at the measurement.
